Working in the network of GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900, the Samsung E840 has the dimensions of 101.5 x 52.5 x 10.6 mm. The Samsung E840 comes with the display of type TFT, 256K colors in the size of 240 x 320 pixels, 2.2 inches.
The ringtones in the phone is of type Polyphonic with 64 channels, MP3. Users of the phone would find the phone is equipped with a vibration facility. The Phonebook of the phone is Photo call supported. It maintains the call record of 20 dialed, 20 received, 20 missed calls. It has the card slot of microSD (TransFlash).
Coming to the connectivity section of the phone, it is GPRS with Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps. The phones doesn’t support HSCSD and 3 G. Moreover, the phone has a EDGE connectivity. It is to be mentioned, the samsung E840 comes with the Bluetooth facility of v2.0 with A2DP. It doesn’t support Infrared port. It is an USB enabled phone.
Again features of the phone includes : Messaging - SMS, MMS, Email; Browser - WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (NetFront 3.4); Games; camera : 2 MP, 1600×1200 pixels. Moreover, the phone comes with the Java MIDP 2.0, T9, FM radio, MP3/AAC player, Document viewer, Organizer, SyncML, To do List, Stopwatch, Calculator and Voice memo features.
The Samsung E840 comes with the battery type of Li-Ion.
Interestingly, the users of the phone can create a fun and personal feel to contacts in their phone book, by just adding a photo or say a video clip to their contacts. This adding up of the phone helps each time the contact person calls the selected photo of your choice or video clips.
Talking about the the phone book, it can hold up to up to one thousand contacts lists at any one time. Moreover, the E840 model of the Samsung comes with a voice mail service. This allows a contact to leave a voice message for the user when the user is busy or unable to get to their mobile phone.
